Yay, we’re going to visit Granny. I just booked some very nicely priced flights to Melbourne in July, thanks to Virgin Blue. They’re having an Autumn Sale with up to 40% Off domestic flights.
Seats are limited and all fares are subject to availability, so you might want to get in quick. Airport taxes, fees and surcharges are all included, which is good to know. But you most definitely need to know that fares are NON-REFUNDABLE.
So, the important stuff – sale period is from:
Wednesday 10 March 2010 till midnight Monday 15th March 2010.
Travel periods are from:
1. Tuesday 20/04/10 to Wednesday 23/06/10
2. Tuesday 20/07/10 to Wednesday 15/09/10
3. Tuesday 12/10/10 to Wednesday 15/12/10
This isn’t all the cheap flights, but just a couple to give you an indication of costs. There are heaps more on the website, so definitely check them out.
$189 Perth to Melbourne
$79 Hobart to Sydney
$99 Brisbane to Cairns
$79 Adelaide to Sydney
$99 Sydney to Hamilton Island
$149 Darwin to Perth

Kids love all things science, and I’m sure plenty of adults do too. If you sign up to iSubscribe, you’ll receive a free copy of the magazine called Popular Science Magazine. This offer actually came out last year and it was ridiculously popular. I remember because I was one who missed out.
This won’t be around for long. In fact, on the iSubscribe website, it does say there’s only 100 copies available. That sure isn’t many.
Did you know that somewhere in the world right now there has been an amazing breakthrough? This is the kinda stuff Popular Science keeps you up to date with – the latest innovation and scientific discoveries. Woo Hoo.

Have you ever seen that ad on TV where a mother is busy playing sport or having coffee with her friends, then in the last scene of the ad is her child lying on the road under her bicycle, injured after being hit by a car, or falling off her bike? That ad specifically targeted audiences who had never taken a first aid course. I used to hate that ad. But is sure was a strong message.
Well, Target have partnered up with St John Ambulance Australia to support this charitable organisation and are offering a FREE First Aid Course.
If you’re a parent and carer of children 12 years and under and you live in NSW, QLD, SA, TAS, VIC, WA or NT, then you’re eligible to attend a FREE St John First Aid course. Pretty good hey? Especially given the cost is normally $125 per person. So not only are you attending the course for free, you’re also gaining invaluable information on potentially saving someone’s life one day.
To find out more on the course dates for your state, just go through to the website here. Alternatively, you can call on 1300 106 499. This course was trialled back in April 2009, and due to an overwhelming success, it’s being carried on this year.

Have you ever wandered through an arcade or shopping centre, and got a whiff of that distinctive, licorice smell? I love that smell, and it certainly shouts out Darrell Lea to me. Yum. Makes my mouth water.
When you buy a 300gm pack of Darrell Lea’s Original Liquorice, it will only cost you $1.00 instead of the normal RRP of $3.79. This is available in store only. But in saying that, have a look through the website and see if you find something else that tantalises your tastebuds before you head into a store. In fact, when you go through to the website, you’ll also see specials on chocolate bars, Rocklea Road, chocolate cartons and more licorice.
This offer started yesterday, Monday 8th March 2010 and will run through to Sunday, 14th March. One Week Only.

There’s no doubt about it, $1 for these Mocks is pretty cheap. And boy, are they popular.
For those of you who aren’t quite sure what these $1 thingies are, they’re a sock for your mobile phone, MP3 or digital camera. It protects your electronics from those scratching keys in a handbag or pocket. But mainly, they’re a fashion item. They’re priced normally at $9.95 – 14.95.
You will need a discount code for this, and the code is . . . FB90. Go through to the mockstore website, choose your design, enter your shipping details and add the discount code FB90 and you will then see the price amend to $1. Unfortunately, if you like the couture or photo mocks, they’re not included in this $1 offer.

If you love your gaming, or know someone who does, I have just found a gaming headset cheaper than anywhere else and you’ll save yourself $24. The G330 Gaming Headset is available on Logitech for just $34.95. Cheapest after that is on MSY for $59, so guess you’ll be buying them at Logitech. Not a bad saving hey? And that, literally, is all it will cost, because there’s no shipping fee.
They’re a comfortable, lightweight fit, have a silicone-lined headband and pivoting ear pads so as not to create pressure on your head. I always like the noise-cancelling microphone which reduces that annoying background noise. You can connect digitally to any USB port or into your PC sound card with a 3.5mm jack. Oh, there’s also in-line audio controls that allows you to adjust the volume, or even mute the microphone without having to pause the action.
Not a bad review on cnet, giving it a very good thumbs up. So, sounds like pretty good value. And, what’s more – there’s free shipping with this one.

Click here and listen to It’s A Long Way To The Top while you’re reading this blog. (You’ll need to have 2 blog pages open for this purpose).
Right, now that you’ve got that great, all time Aussie band playing in the background, how would you like to pick up their High Voltage album for just $7.95 with FREE SHIPPING? It’s an oldie, but a goodie (released 1975).
Do you like ACCA DACCA? Been to any of the Australian Black Ice concerts? I didn’t get tickets, but heard them belting out some serious sound from the outdoor venue they were playing at. Did you know that for this recent Australian and New Zealand tour they had 92 shipping
containers to transport construction materials for the massive stage and 40m catwalk AND another 70 semi-trailers for the sound and special effects equipment? Amazing.
Anyway, if you’re wanting a bargain, CD WOW have High Voltage for such a reasonable price. Songs on the CD include: TNT, It’s A Long Way To The Top, High Voltage (funnily enough), Soul Stripper etc. Just click through here to CD WOW, search on High Voltage and it’ll come up for a nice cheap price of $7.95.

Pack of 20 Batteries
Wow, how cheap is this: Lithium batteries for less than 17c per battery. You know, if you were to walk into Harvey Norman or Dick Smith, you’d probably pay around $4+ just for ONE battery.
DealExtreme is a US based website, which means you’ll be paying in US Dollars. The price showing on the website is US$2.98, which works out at approximately AU$3.28 (depending on the exchange rate at the time), and this price includes shipping. How unreal – free shipping. Not a bad price for a pack of 20 batteries.
So what do you use these batteries for I hear you ask? For me, it’s mostly watches and kids toys, but some calculators, torches or remote controls use them also. Or any gadget that’s small and only takes such sized batteries.
Might be worth checking the charge on these when you receive them. You never know, you might get a dud, but still, great price even if you do. You’re getting 20 for the price of half a battery. So guess we can’t complain too much.
